Pt nanoparticles embedded in CeO2 and CeZrO2 catalysts for biogas upgrading: Investigation on carbon removal mechanism by oxygen isotopic exchange and DRIFTS

This work investigated the effect of Pt nanoparticles embedded into CeO2 ([email protected]2) and CeZrO2 on carbon removal mechanism for dry reforming methane, in comparison to impregnated Pt/CeO2. Morphological structural characterization by TEM Raman spectroscopy showed that sintering is suppressed both structures doping with Zr led solid solution formation. A combination TPR, oxygen isotopic exchange DRIFTS measurements demonstrated interact more strongly ceria than supported Pt, as a consequence, reactive lattice becomes abundant catalyst surface, promoting gasification over nanoparticle. The low availability species Pt/CeO2 resulted higher formation, TPO analysis.
